The 5 Factor Diet

Fitness trainer Harley Pasternak is the creator of the 5 Factor Diet. Each part of this diet plan revolves around the number 5. Five days per week of exercising, 5 minute segments, 5 times each day. Five meals per day. Each meal menu takes just 5 minutes to prepare. Each meal must include all five of the diets suggested ingredients.

The Five 5 Factor Diet Ingredients:
  • Sugar free drinks- water, coffee, tea, sugar free soda, sugar free energy drink
  • Healthy fat- peanut oil, canola oil, flax seed, olive oil
  • Complex Carbs- beans, lentils, vegetables, wild rice, oatmeal, sweet potato, quinoa
  • Fiber- wild rice, whole grain cereal, flourless wheat bread, beans, fruits and vegetables with edible skins and seeds
  • Protein- fish, fat free dairy, egg whites, lean meats and poultry

With the 5 Factor Diet, you are allowed one cheat day per week. On your cheat day, you can eat and drink anything you want. But on all other days, you must stick to the plan. Doing so, according to creator Harley Pasternak, will both help you lose weight, and keep your blood sugar level low and stable.

Does it Work?

The 5 Factor Diet recommends regular exercise, and better eating choices. Both of these things promote the losing of weight. Many celebrities in Hollywood speak highly of the diet plan. The diet is presented as a 5 week plan to lose 10 pounds. The diet is a safe way to lose one to two pounds per week. So if you want to lose more than ten pounds, you will need to stay on it longer.
